Well, we’re yet to find out if the man, PrimeBoy, who’s said to be Mohbad’s best friend is guilty of killing the superstar singer.
The internet was set agog on Wednesday afternoon when the Lagos state police command declared Primeboy wanted.
With many speculations that the assumptions might really be true that PrimeBoy used a ring made of charm to fight his blossom friend on Sunday who later developed health complications that led to his death.
Africa Informants reports that Primeboy, born Owodunni Ibrahim, is a person of interest in the death of Mohbad, 27.
The street pop singer died on September 12 and was buried the next day.
There were, however, insinuations on social media that Mohbad and Primeboy had a rift before his demise — a rumour the singer’s friend denied.
However, in a statement via X on Wednesday, Benjamin Hundeyin, the Lagos police spokesperson, said Primeboy failed to comply with the invitation regarding an investigation into Mohbad’s death.
In the statement, with detailed information about the suspect, the police offered a reward of N1 million to anyone with useful information that would lead to his arrest.
The statement read, “Following his failure to honour police invitation successfully sent to him since the commencement of investigation into the circumstances leading to the death of Mr Ilerioluwa Aloba aka Mohbad, the Lagos State Police Command hereby declares wanted Owodunni Ibrahim aka Primeboy,” the statement reads.

“If seen, contact the nearest police station or call 0803 688 5727. The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Idowu Owohunwa, hereby offers a handsome reward of N1,000,000 (One Million Naira Only) to anyone with useful information leading to his arrest.”
Since the sad demise of Mohbad, thousands of Nigerians have demanded justice for the singer in nationwide protests.
On September 18, the Lagos police inaugurated a 13-man special investigation team to probe the singer’s death.
Idowu Owohunwa, the state commissioner of police, vowed that the command will use all its powers to fish out everyone indicted in the case.
On September 21, the police exhumed Mohbad’s corpse for autopsy and are awaiting the results.
The Lagos police on Tuesday announced it now has Naira Marley in its custody for interrogation.
Sam Larry was also detained on September 29.
