2023: We won’t vote anyone without plans to reform police, says Reekado Banks

Ayoleyi Solomon, the singer better known as Reekado Banks, says Nigerians will not vote for anyone without concrete plans to reform the country’s police force in 2023.

The singer’s comment comes as a reaction to a claim by Shizzi, Nigerian record producer and songwriter, that he was allegedly harassed by the police.

Shizzi, whose real name is Oluwaseyi Akerele, had on Wednesday expressed his frustration over alleged harassment of Nigerians by police operatives, citing his experience.

“After what I faced today with the Nigeria police two times in a row! I give up! F**kd up place! Nigeria is stressful na understatement !!!” he had written on Twitter.

On Thursday, Reekado Banks retweeted the music producer’s post which an emoji expressing sadness over the incident.

In a follow-up post, the 27-year-old singer said Nigerians must ensure that only those committed to addressing the scourge are voted into power at the next general elections.

“We are not voting in anyone who has no plans on reforming the police for good,” he wrote.
