Yoruba Nation Movement Suffers Setback As Nigeria Army Invades Sunday Igboho’s House

Operatives of the Nigerian Army have allegedly launched an attack on the home of popular Yoruba activist, Sunday Adeyemo who is popularly known as Sunday Igboho.

This was disclosed by Igboho’s spokesperson, Olayomi Koiki via a video clip.

Koiki confirmed that the attack happened during the early hours on Monday, April 26, 2021, around 2am.

Koiki also alleged that the attack was carried out by the Federal Government who also had the support of the state government.

He said, “Chief Sunday Igboho’s house came under attack this morning, 26th April 2021 around 2 am with heavy gunshots. I will be releasing more updates later in the morning.”

Koiki, who called on the international community to wade into the continued human rights abuse by the Nigerian government, also charged Yoruba sons and daughters to resist tyranny and fight for the cause of freedom.

“We are more than capable to secure ourselves, we have chased them far from here, I am sure you can hear gunshots. That is them shooting from afar, we cannot be intimidated because we are fully prepared and ready for them.” Koiki stated.

Speaking further, Koiki said he was confident that neither the Federal nor State government would take responsibility for the attack, as evidenced during the #EndSARS protests and other massacres.

“By tomorrow morning, I am sure the government would come with false press statements, that it was a set of unknown soldiers, that was the same tactic they used to attack Fela’s mother. They equally used it during #EndSARS.

In the video clip, the agitators vowed not to desist from the call for the independence of Yoruba Nation by Sunday igboho.

Recall that the Yoruba freedom fighter had also declared that the time has come for the actualisation of the much-desired Yoruba Nation.

During his declaration, Igboho, who gained prominence following an ultimatum he issued to criminal herdsmen in the South-West, alleged that the major resources of Nigeria were in the hands of Northerners.

Igboho also decried the criminal activities of herdsmen who were being accused of kidnapping and other variations of organized crime.

He added that there is no basis for ‘one Nigeria’ as insecurity spreads to the southwest region, noting that the only solution is for the Yoruba nation to stand on its own.

Also, he was recently assaulted by the operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS).

The popular activist described the attack as an attempt to murder him.

In the viral video, a shirtless Igboho was seen with his men daring the security operatives and throwing expletives.
