Unidentified gunmen, Thursday, attacked the Ideato South Local Government Area Police Divisional headquarters, Dikenafai, destroying some offices.
A source in the community said the gunmen, who stormed the area at the early hours of the day, set free some detainees at the station.
It was gathered that they deployed locally made explosive device to destroy part of the station.
“They came at the early hours of Thursday. The explosive device destroyed the Admnistrative Block, Office of the Divisional Crime Officer and the reception desk”, the source stated.
The Admnistrative Block, the Office of the Divisional Crime Officer and the reception desk are said to be the areas affected by the attack.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Micheal Abattam, when contacted had promised to find out about the incident.
It could be recalled that many police formations in the state came under attacks last year.
