There has been reports of heightened tension in the Ojota area of Lagos on Monday morning as suspected hoodlums reportedly engaged in a shootout with some officers of the Police Force.

According to reports, the fight started between suspected hoodlums and residents of the area.
Africainformants gathered that the Rapid Response Squad (RRS), a detachment of the Lagos State Police Command, were deployed to Ojota immediately to restore calmness.
However, photos and videos emerging from the scene show that a casualty was recorded. It was claimed that a civilian was shot dead when members of the Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC) and operatives of the police engaged in a physical clash.

A police vehicle was also set ablaze during the clash.
