BREAKING: Fresh ISWAP Attack Ongoing In Damasak Town, Borno

The terror group, Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) fighters in over a dozen gun trucks have launched a daring attack on Damasak town in Northern Borno, Northeast Nigeria.

The garrison town of Damasak is the capital of Mobbar Local Government in Northern Borno close to the shores of Lake Chad.

HumAngle learned that the ongoing attack began at about 5 p.m. on Tuesday, April 13.

The insurgents were seen heading towards the Army base in Damasak, as locals observing Ramadan fled the town.

Local sources informed HumAngle that fierce clashes could be heard and at least one Nigerian Air Force combat aircraft is supporting efforts to push back the attack.

On Saturday, April 10, several humanitarian facilities were destroyed and at least six people were killed during an ISWAP attack in Damasak.
