There is tension in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.
This is as the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state, Ladi Adebutu storms the office of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Adebutu, has rejected the outcome of the March 18 governorship and state assembly election.
He says that the conduct of the election was characterised by rigging and several irregularities.
The PDP chieftain told newsmen during the peaceful protest that the exercise had become necessary due to the alleged compromise that was observed during the conduct of the polls.
Adebutu says the protest was to express his displeasure about the outcome of the election.
To him, it was marred by irregularities.

The protesters who had placards with different inscriptions on them were not allowed entry into the premises of the INEC in the Ogun capital for fear of break down of law and order.

Dapo Abiodun’s Victory
Recall that the incumbent governor of the state, Dapo Abiodun of the All Progressives Congress (APC) was declared winner of the last Saturday’s polls by the electoral body.

However, in a swift reaction, the governor’s camp has reacted to the allegation of irregularities and rigging.
The State Ogun Publicity Secretary of the APC, Tunde Oladunjoye described the allegations as false.
